About Team Rudra

Team Rudra is the official Formula Student team of IIIT Basar (Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Basar), founded by 27 passionate undergraduate students with a shared mission—to design, build, and race the institute’s first-ever Formula Student prototype at FFS India 2025.

Our journey began with a vision to take engineering beyond textbooks and into the real world, where design, fabrication, teamwork, and innovation come together. With every part assembled and every simulation refined, we are learning not just how to build a race car—but how to engineer with purpose.

With this spirit, our mentor Dr. V. Chandra Sekhara Rao (Ph.D.) guides us with insight, encouragement, and technical direction—helping the team stay focused and future-ready.

Organized into 12 technical and management sub-teams, Team Rudra runs like a professional motorsport project—combining creativity, discipline, and hands-on learning. We proudly represent over 10,000 students from rural Telangana, proving that innovation starts wherever passion lives.

CAPTAIN

Aravind Kommu leads Team Rudra with a sharp engineering mindset and a strong sense of direction. As Team Captain, he oversees all technical and strategic aspects of the project, guiding the team through every stage—from design to race day. With a focus on teamwork and precision, Aravind ensures the car reflects the team’s full potential. "A captain turns individual efforts into one unstoppable force."

A strategist, coordinator, and driving force behind Team Rudra — Somanath Ryanaboina ensures every part of the project runs with precision. As Team Manager, he leads operations across all subsystems, aligning technical teams and timelines with a clear vision.
